Smart traffic control

We combine information, communication, electronic, control and management technologies and apply them to the construction of various transportation software/hardware to make the overall transportation operation and management automated, or improve the system for transportation service qualities (excerpted from Article 2 of the “Enforcement Rules of Act for Promotion of Private Participation in Infrastructure Projects”), improve the efficiency, quality and safety of transportation, and further implement environmental protection and the development of green transportation.

 

Smart security control

Perform centralized monitoring and management of all equipment and environments in the IDC, and monitor the operating statuses and work parameters of each system equipment; if any abnormal incidents occur, administrators will be notified in real-time for remote monitoring and management, and to quickly perform corresponding handling measures.

Smart home

By using automation and intellectualization technologies, related industries such as security, IT, network and service, etc., are integrated and the technologies are integrated into buildings to improve the security, convenience and comfortability of life.

BRT electromechanical system

The overall electromechanical operating system of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) includes an automatic billing system, platform doors, communication systems, security monitoring, service walkie-talkie, phones, broadcasting, transmission, primary-secondary clocks, central monitoring and control, platform information display boards, vehicle operation scheduling and priority sign systems, and the required cabinets and racks, power supplies, layout of fiber-optic cables and wiring, etc., the fundamentals of the overall BRT system.

 

Success case one

HwaCom had successfully assisted Taiwan Highway in the construction of the “Central Regional Traffic Control Center of Expressway (Bid R22)”, “National Highway Central Traffic Control System Improvement Project (Bid R23)”, “Renewal and Improvement Project of Existing Traffic Control Systems in the North District Highway and Taiwan Highway No. 2F(Bid R13), “National Highway No. 3 Traffic Control Improvement and Addition of Traffic Control Equipment to Some Sections of the Expressway (Bid R32) and Traffic Control Equipment Project in the Southern Regions” and other major engineering projects since 2008; the overall construction range has covered the entire range of highways in Taiwan. In addition to the construction of the various roadside equipment and other infrastructures, they also included software development for the systems at the traffic control centers; the various projects have been successfully completed in recent years, and HwaCom had won the “Golden Way Award” and the Public Construction Commission “Golden Quality Award” from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. The traffic control systems used the principle of “information centralization and partition control” to promote traffic control coordination, cooperation and information sharing across agencies, and established the “road network diversion and alternative routes” service function to improve the efficiency of road network transportation, and use this to improve driving safety, improve the information service for pedestrians, improve the efficiency of event handling, and improve the development of smart transportation industries.

Success case two

HwaCom successfully implemented smart image recognition systems into the recording and monitoring systems at each Taiwan Railway station (Overall System Security Improvement Project for the Railways Across the Island); this is the first time that Taiwan Railway has used smart security control systems. Remote monitoring, monitoring of people to prevent intrusion of platforms and tracks, and real-time/historical image playback and backup are achieved by integrating technologies such as graphic control management systems, image recognition systems, remote monitoring and management systems, central monitoring and management systems and cabinet environmental control and management systems.

In addition to the construction of the monitoring systems for all Taiwan Railway stations across Taiwan, HwaCom also assisted in the construction project of monitoring systems for railroad crossings all over Taiwan (Double Engineering of Railroad Crossing Recording and Storage Equipment), where monitoring systems were constructed at railroad crossings; it also included the license plate recognition function to effectively help Taiwan Railway record and monitor the situations of railroad crossings.
